Vacation planning is something that I usually leave up to my wife. She loves to put together the family trip and make the preparations for us to go away with the kids. However, I recently came across a great little getaway package that works for just the two of us. Because we never had a real honeymoon I have been looking at different options for heading out of town for a few days and leaving the children with grandma. As I was surfing the internet I was directed to a California destination escape the sounds like the perfect break for my wife and I. What I am looking at is spending a couple of nights at one of the Hollywood hotels and touring the popular attractions around the city.
I have been to Universal Studios and Disneyland twice in my lifetime, but that has been more than 20 years ago now, and my wife has never been to either place. Although she has gone on vacation with her parents to California she has never been to the popular theme parks. So I am planning a getaway for just the two of us to fly to Los Angeles and stay in the Hollywood hotels where we can share private room with a king size bed and be close to some the famous attractions that Hollywood has to offer. In addition to visiting the Universal Studio lot we can take in the Hollywood Walk of Fame and see the stars along the boulevard that lead to Grumman's Chinese Theater. We can even stop by the famous Kodak Theater where the academy awards are hosted each year. Then depending upon what is playing I am considering booking tickets for a performance at the Hollywood Bowl.
One thing that I know my wife will be really excited about is attending a taping of the television game show The Price is Right. She has always wanted to go on the show and with an exclusive event package that is offered by the Hollywood hotels where we will be staying, we can gain access to the show and may have an opportunity to visit contestant's row. With all of the entertainment that a Hollywood vacation offers I have to make sure that we find the time to do some window shopping on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills and visit the beautiful beaches that are overlooked by the exclusive mansions and homes of the rich and famous. With so many things to do, my little getaway might just turn into a full week away from home as I plan the honeymoon we never had.
